I’m also known as The Closet Professor, or simply Professor, even though I am not a professor nor do I teach anymore, I am now a historian working in a museum.
Gender: Male
Orientation: Gay
Industry: Museum
Occupation: History
Location: Vermont, but originally from Alabama
Introduction: I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn’t mean there won’t be ups and downs; that’s all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It’s a beginning filled with great hope. It’s a second chance to live my life…not anyone else’s.
My profile picture is “David and Me,” 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces.
Interests: history, literature, art, religion, travel
Favorite Movies: Fried Green Tomatoes, Casablanca, The Thin Man movies, most gay cinema
Favorite Music: Cake
Favorite Books: Crazy in Alabama, anything by Mark Childress, Greg Herren, or Donna Leon

Oh Wow!!! I didn’t realize it was a painting, until I had read what you’ve written

I discovered that I’d been following you in two places ! I have a list of general gay blogs, from which I pluck photos, etc … and there you were. The funny things is that I knew I was reading you … or had read you, but that things were just a tad … well … different. Anyway, I thought it best to choose one … so I chose the Google + blog. I sense it cause you offense, thus my rush to explain. Mark

Oy, Prof … could you do me a favor and have a look at my post from my wingnut’s website … long story, but in a nutshell this guy has been stalking and harassing me for five years. Anyway, if you could have a look … and, well, if you write a comment I promise never to ask anymore favors!

Of course I will, and don’t worry about asking favors. Anything for you, sweetie.

Hi, Joe.
I looked up my name in Google Images and several pictures from your site showed up in the search results — so I came and looked.
*waves*
Was going to email you, but couldn’t find a way here to do that. Likely looked in the wrong place.
You cute?

Of course you would have a boyfriend. Anyone I am ever interested in for a possible relationship *always* has a boyfriend or husband or already.
Lucky him. 😦

Well, sadly the boyfriend wouldn’t be moving with me, but we’d remain just friends
