The Hills Are Alive…
Home

I got home yesterday a little after lunch time. There was only a slight delay in Charlotte, but otherwise it wasn’t too bad. I slept most of the way. I was so exhausted though by the time I got to my parents house, I went straight to bed. I’m definitely needing lots of rest. I’m short of breath with almost everything I do. It’s good to be home though.
I’ll Be Home for Christmas

You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
I’ll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
Off to Montreal

I leave today going to Montreal for a conference. I’ll be there until Sunday. This is usually a good conference. Everyone is congenial. I’ve been to conferences before where people were very critical of papers presented, but this conference isn’t like that. I decided to stay in the gay village and not at one of the conference hotels. I have one hotel that I particularly like and it’s only two subway stops from the conference which is being held at Concordia University. So the next several days will be spent listening to papers being presented and then most of the evenings, I should have free.
Montreal

I have to work this morning then my friend and I are headed to Montreal. We are going to stop on the way and tour Ben and Jerry’s, because you really can’t come to Vermont without a visit to Ben and Jerry’s. After we get to Montreal we will settle into our hotel room then probably get dinner somewhere and roam through the gay village, just so she can see it. She can’t get into many of the places. Then we will head to the old city for Saturday, probably go to the Museum of Fine Arts, and just have a fun day in the city. I’m not for sure what we will do Sunday other than to go home.
Late Flights

My friend’s flight from Newark to Burlington was delayed over three hours, nearly four hours. I hate when they delay your flight but won’t tell you why. They never told her why. According to the United Airlines site, the incoming plane was delayed and then there were mechanical issues. So I waited at home until the flight actually took off. With me getting back in late last night, it’s going to be a pain going to work this morning.
Moment of Zen: Chicago

I’m still in Chicago. Day 2 of my class is today. I learned a lot in day 1 and I suspect I’ll learn a lot in day 2. This is actually going to be short today because I fell asleep last night because of a headache and I’m actually writing this post this morning.
Chicago

I’m in Chicago for my Museum Studies class. It should be a great class, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s from 9-5 today and tomorrow. There’s a lot to learn and not much time to learn it.
In the meantime, I’m also working on my class that I’m teaching. I thought I’d gotten everything graded, but apparently I didn’t properly engage the students, so I’m having to go back and do that. It’s really maddening.
Also, thanks for all the well wishes with the new job.
Got Home Late

Got home too late and had to stay at my coworker’s house because I was too tired to drive home. I also couldn’t post a pic from my phone for some reason. More later.
Update 10:42 I’m back at my apartment, but not for long. I’ve got to go into the office this afternoon.
Update 3:50 I ended up not going in the office because I’ve had my hours for the week. So, I slept.
