Yea Alabama
Yea, Alabama! Drown ’em Tide!
Every ‘Bama man’s behind you,
Hit your stride.
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave.
And if a man starts to weaken,
That’s a shame!
For Bama’s pluck and grit have
Writ her name in Crimson flame.
Fight on, fight on, fight on men!
Remember the Rose Bowl, we’ll win then.
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You’re Dixie’s football pride,
Crimson Tide, Roll Tide, Roll Tide!!
Technically, this is a fight song, not a poem, but I am still happy that Alabama won the BCS National Championship.
ROLL TIDE!
About Joe
I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's.
My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces.

The Crimson Tied rolled through the stadium like the Mississippi out of its banks. A shut out!! The first in the bowl's history. The Bear is looking down with a huge smile on his face this morning…..As of the rest of us, I am yawning, yawning, yawning….but well worth the time to watch the game of the century.Roll Tide — And that is from a War Eagle fan!!!
