About Joe

Unknown's avatar
I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's. My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces. View all posts by Joe

    More lovely images. Many thanks.

The second reminded me of a naked rear photo of Daniel Radcliffe. He had been playing Alan Strang in Peter Shaffer’s “Equus” in the London West End in which he is naked for much of the play. All that was missing from the photo was his dangling testicles – clearly air brushed out! Need I mention that the theatre was packed out for the whole run!

I soooo wish I could have ever attended the play mostly for Daniel’s nudity alone but also because I understand it was very well done.

As I recall, The Times gave the play a 5* review. I still recall one comment that Daniel could have spent the play reading out the content of Yellow Pages and the audience would still have been transfixed. Hardly a surprise!
I missed it too 😦 :(. The tickets flew almost instantly.

Peter Shaffer was exceptionally gifted, as was his twin Anthony. He got into an elite school, St Paul’s, London, then won a scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge.
Equus received a Tony Award and several UK awards. His Amadeus production at the Old Vic with Derek Jacobi was absolutely stunning.
