Today is the last day of my weeklong respite from work. I’ll have to go in tomorrow, but I’m off today because I have a dermatology appointment. I’m glad I have today off, but I wish I didn’t have to go anywhere. We received what looks like 6” of snow last night. Thankfully, it’s not the 9” predicted. As is usually the case in many things, 6” is much easier to take than 9”. Hopefully, the snow will get plowed soon, so it won’t be too difficult to travel.
I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's.
My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces.

He is a handsome slim devil and brave wearing not much in all that snow.
Years ago I saw a snowman with an extra carrot halfway down: it caused much amusement to the passers by.

Beautiful pic! Hot young stud sans shirt in the snow. I used to run shirtless in cold weather, even freezing or below. I still sweated.
