About Joe

Unknown's avatar
I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's. My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces. View all posts by Joe

Wow Joe! That puts a new bigger definition to “book worm”. More like “book snake!” We ended up having four tornadoes last night. One of them went about a mile north of my son’s house…and directly in the path of travel between my retirement community and his house…. And we have a chance of snow…I hope your head is better!!!

How come you guys have so much snow? You are not in the Alps or Rockies. Here in GB we have had blue cloudless days. No rain at all and an average of 15C. Scotland was around 17C.

That book worm can read any of my books, and need not limit his interest just to books.

The name Vermont comes from the the French “Viridis Montis” or Green Mountains. Basically the whole state except for the eastern border that is made up of the Connecticut River and the west border comprised of Lake Champlain, we are mountains. Vermont is the first place where people went in America to ski for vacation and other than maple syrup is still our major industry. Snow usually covers the ground here for 6 months out of the year. The Green Mountains aren’t as high as the Rockies or the Alps but they are still northern mountains.

I got my sixth round of antibiotics today plus a new inhaler…and a referral for a sinus CT scan…what can I say?

Joe, many thanks for the geography lesson! Far too chilly in Vermont. I was born 5 degrees north of the equator and like the heat. Not the equatorial humid heat but the dry heat of Provence – except that I am allergic to all that lavender, so somewhere near the coast, like Nice or Menton.
