A Gay Christian Blog

Back in the summer of 2011, I wrote a series of posts about the Churches of Christ and homosexuality.  I’m still getting occasional feedback on these articles, and I wanted to have an easy link to these posts in order.  These are seven of my favorite pieces that I ever wrote for this blog and I hope you will enjoy revisiting them.  All of my posts on religion can now be accessed either by clicking the Religion link or by visiting my other blog which has a few extra posts, “A Gay Christian Blog.”I have since stopped posting to A Gay Christian Blog,” but it is still there with a message directing them to my religious posts on this blog.

Here are links to the full series on the Churches of Christ in order:
  1. Quid Est Veritas (What is truth?John 18:38)
  2. Sola Scriptura (By Scripture Alone)
  3. Abusus Non Tollit Usum (Just Because Something Is Misused Does Not Mean It Cannot Be Used Correctly.)
  4. Veritas Vos Liberabit (The Truth Shall Set You Free—John 8:32)
  5. Deus Caritas Est, Veritas Est Amor (God is Love, Truth is Love)
  6. Vince Malum Bono (Overcome Evil with GoodRomans 12:21)
  7. Via, Veritas, Vita (The Way, The Truth, and The Life—John 14:6)

Hey Joe. If you have a link to send info privately I have a talk to the men at my congregation on “Can a Gay person inherit the Kingdom of God”. It was very eye opening to all the men who attended. Only one person went away unhappy.

I would be happy to share some info from it with you sometime. My CoC congregation has around 475 members. They had never heard that Homosexual was added to the Bible after 1945. They also had no idea that the Nee Testament scriptures have absolutely nothing to do with being Gay or loving Gay experiences with a partner.
They also thought all Gays had homosexual sex with each other. They were astonished to find out you can be Gay and not perform Homosexual sex.
love to chat about all this sometime.
    Sincerely,
    Chris from Columbia TN

Thanks for sharing details of your life and your experience on the overlap between LGBT and the Christian Faith. It is a topic too many see as black and white perhaps. However, leaving aside the general question of gayness and whether it has a place in Christian life – is it really appropriate to have Scripture and reflections on God and Faith, side by side with pictures that glorify nudity, suggestive posing, and pornography? Would straight pictures from Playboy or Penthouse be a good thing for a Christian blog? Would the Apostles approve?

Something for your consideration. Peace, brother.
