I Write Like…

I put the first chapter of my dissertation into “I Write Like” and this is what it said:

I write like
Mario Puzo

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I have never read any of his books, have you? He is the author of the Godfather and other books about the mafia. I can’t decide if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. Any thoughts?

About Joe

I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's. My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces. View all posts by Joe

Mario Puzo was a BEST seller. So we can deduce from that fact that your dissertation will also be a best seller!Does it have murder, intrigue, and mystery? Publish it!

Well, we can certainly hope it will be a best seller. And there is a little bit of murder, intrigue, and mystery, but most of it is incidental. There is a pirate attack though, LOL.

Using your link, I also went to the Analyze Your Writing page and found out that it is fun. I put in four different long samples of my writing. The analysis for two samples indicated James Joyce, one sample indicated Stephen King, and the last sample indicated Cory Doctorow, whoever he is. I don't quite know what to make of it.

I had heard about this website on NPR the other day, then I saw a link to it on Bourgeois Nerd, so I thought I would check it out. I did a few blog posts and it came up with a different writer for each one. I guess I should try it with Chapter 2 and see what it says, just to see if there is consistency in my writing, LOL. The guy who created this site said on NPR that he needed to put in more authors so that it could be more accurate.BTW, Cory Doctorow is a Canadian blogger, journalist, and science fiction author who serves as co-editor of the blog Boing Boing. I had never heard of him either, LOL, but just out of curiosity I looked him up and decided to share.
