About Joe

Unknown's avatar
I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's. My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces. View all posts by Joe

Professor, I love your blog, your Sunday comments and insights, your candor about having survived your southern upbringing to thrive in Vermont but I worry that one day your blog and your comments about your boss will come to his attention. I would hate to think that you would suffer any reprecussions. Something to consider.

Thank you for the advice and the compliments. I do consider that it could come to his attention, and I may at some point go back and edit out that stuff.

    Hi Joe!!!
Sorry for my delay in getting in touch with you, but I hadn’t seen your invitation to talk about nurse uniforms and nurse caps.
It is fortunate that your mother is a nurse.
We can chat anytime you want. Just one thing: I am Spanish and I don’t speak your language. I use an online translator, so I ask you to please write me in a simple way so that my translator can do it in the best possible way.
I look forward to hearing from you!
    Best regards

    Ángel
