Health Update

I went yesterday to have my latest Botox treatment for my migraines. Thank goodness this is a quick procedure because like last time I was regularly receiving Botox treatments for my migraines, it becomes more painful each time. It basically turns off nerves in my head, neck, and shoulders, and when the nerves reawaken, they are more sensitive. The whole procedure takes about five minutes, and I can handle five minutes of pain if it helps to relieve my migraines.

I’m continuing to experience abdominal pain. I thought it was getting better. I was only having pain when I ate. However, it’s almost constant now. When I messaged my doctor’s clinic, they scheduled me for an abdominal ultrasound on Friday. It’s not a good time for this because a lot is going on at work. I can’t help it though. I have to take care of my health first.

On a brighter note, here’s your Isabella pic of the week:

I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's. Joe, prayers for your ultrasound tomorrow. I had an ultrasound on my thyroid on Monday (it’s overactive). I was having abdominal issues in December and my doc ordered a CT scan, which found issues in my pancreas. I had more CTs earlier this summer as part of the diagnosis of my stroke and then T I A. In eight months, my pancreas is clearly showing further decline. So I’m having an MRI with contrast on Wed. The 25th. And it’s very likely I’ll need a biopsy. We are talking cancer, I’m afraid to say. So you are absolutely right—your health is the highest priority. My 65 y o first cousin dropped dead last year—he hadn’t even retired! Sending you my best thoughts! Bruce

I hope you get good news when you have the MRI. I’ll be thinking about you.

Thank you Joe! I am not one who puts things off. Which means I basically don’t have any regrets. I took a bucket list trip to Berlin in March. But I would welcome good news. I have yet to meet my 9th grandchild. I’m always up for a trip to London. Never imagined I’d have two granddaughters in Wimbledon! Prayers for your procedure on Friday! Peace and grace!

Joe, I hope your ultrasound goes well, and Kleinschmidtbruce I hope your biopsy goes well. I received the results of a colonoscopy today which found nothing unusual. I agree with you both that it’s wise to follow up on your health. When maladies are caught early the results are often better than when they’re discovered later on.

On a brighter note, that’s a handsome young man you posted today. Not nude but still handsome.
