About Joe

Unknown's avatar
I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's. My profile picture is "David and Me," 2001 painting by artist Steve Walker. It happens to be one of my favorite modern gay art pieces. View all posts by Joe

Gosh dear Joe, today’s man bears a passing resemblance to the delectable Tom Daley, the English Olympic diver, who is a heart-throb over here. I don’t know if his charms are known in the USA. His husband is from California.

His charms are well known in the USA. We’ve loved him before he came out. How could you not? 🥵

        I can’t say I am surprised!

Two friends bumped into him walking down Old Compton Street in Soho some years ago. He was absolutely charming and chatty notwithstanding his widespread fame. They said he’d make an ideal best friend.

His knitting a jumper at the Olympics while waiting for his turn seized everyone’s heart here.
