Sleeping In

I haven’t had but one day off in the last two weeks. I’m taking today off to try and sleep in.

Happy Hump Day

Happy Halloween

My favorite time of year. I have always loved Halloween. It’s just a fun holiday. We probably won’t have a lot of trick or treaters tonight because they are predicting pretty heavy rainfall. My neighbor and I will still give out candy to those who come by. It’s always fun to see all the costumes.

A Room with a View

I live next door to a bed and breakfast. What people who stay there always fail to realize is that if they don’t close their blinds, anyone can see through the sheer curtains on the windows. I often see these things when my neighbor and I are sitting out on the front porch talking. One night I saw a guy, who was rather largely endowed, masturbate in front of the bathroom window; its was not as erotic as it sounds, since the guy had a huge beer belly. Last night, though, was the sexiest sight I’ve ever seen. The guy in the front room was a tall guy with the body of a Greek god. I had a glimpse of him a few seconds earlier when he was in the bathroom, but then he came back into his room and began to undress. Because of my position on the porch talking with my neighbor, he was directly in my line of sight. I may be a terrible person, but I just couldn’t turn away. He stripped down to his black boxer briefs. He then proceeded to walk around the room for a bit in his underwear before finally pulling on a t-shirt. Sadly he then put on a hoodie before finally putting on pants and disappearing from sight. It was quite a show though while it lasted.

Green Mountains

There are only two ways to get anywhere in Vermont. You can go between or around the mountains, or you can go over the mountains. Going over them, is always the quickest way. However, the roads are often narrow, dirt roads. The speed limit is never over 35 mph. The scenery is beautiful this time of year with the fall foliage and the bubbling brooks running down the mountains. There are disadvantages though other than it being narrow, dirt roads. In the winter, these roads are closed and impassible. There is also no cell service through these mountain roads. So when I was in my way back over one of these mountains yesterday coming back from physical therapy, my doctor happened to call with the results of my ultrasound. The problem was, there was no signal, so it went to voicemail. By the time I got the message, the office was closed and I couldn’t call back. So now I’ve had to wait until this morning for her to call me back. I’d have liked to have known what the tests said yesterday, but now I have to wait.

3 Million

Sometime in the middle of last night, I surpassed 3 million page views in my blog. In its 9 year history, this is a milestone. I know for more famous blogs, this is a tiny milestone, but when I started this blog 9 years ago, I didn’t think anyone would read it. I never thought I’d have 370 regular followers. I didn’t think anyone would care about my esoteric knowledge of history, my posts in religion or poetry, let alone would they care anything about my life. Over the past nine years, I have met some wonderful people through this blog. Some have come and gone, some have passed away, others have stayed and we’ve become even better friends. Y’all have helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life and for that I am truly grateful. Thank you for checking  out this blog and following the ups and downs of my life. May we have many more years together.

Last Friday in September

Thank goodness September is almost over.  It’s been a busy month. It started with Vermont Pride. There was a lot going on that weekend. All of it fun too. Then we had the 200th anniversary homecoming. That was a lot of work and very exhausting. I’m glad I’ll never experience anything like that again. Lastly, we had a major writer’s symposium on campus this week which meant VIP tours and dinners. At least I’ve been able to take some time off this week. Next week, we should return to some normalcy. I hope. October won’t be as busy, but a lot is planned to go on next month too. In fact thinking about it, it should be an eventful and exciting end to the year the next few months.
By the way, the picture above is near perfection to me. I saw it an absolutely fell in love. What do you guys think?

Pride Ball

Saturday night is the Pride Ball. There will be fifteen drag performers and two DJs. It should be a fun party. I had debated going because I had a full schedule Friday and Sunday. However, I changed my mind.
Nearly four years ago on the day before my birthday when I had first moved to Vermont, one of my closest friends died in a car accident. I was beyond devastated, and I couldn’t even blog for a while. It took me a long time to get over his death. You might ask why I’m telling you this. Well, Saturday would have been his 29th birthday. He was always a huge advocate of me putting myself out there, so in honor of him, I plan to go to Pride Ball, even if it’s by myself.

Pride Week

For some reason, Vermont has Pride the second weekend in September. Anyway, it’s finally here. This Weekend is Pride. It’s going to be a busy weekend. Three major events are taking place Friday night. First is the HUMP! Film Festival, which I won two tickets to at the last Burly Bears. The HUMP! Film Festival has been bringing audiences a new kind of porn since 2005. The festival features short dirty movies—each less than five minutes—all created by people who aren’t porn stars but want to be one for a weekend. The filmmakers and stars show us what they think is hot and sexy, creative and kinky, their ultimate turn-ons and their craziest fantasies. The carefully curated program is a cornucopia of body types, shapes, ages, colors, sexualities, genders, kinks, and fetishes—all united by a shared spirit of sex-positivity. HUMP! is a celebration of creative sexual expression. I’m going with a group of friends and it looks like it will be a blast.

Also Friday night are two events at bars: Guerrilla Queer Bar and Burly Bears. Since Burly Bears is mostly for men, really the only thing just for gay men in the state of Vermont, and I am taking a group of women to HUMP! Fest, I will be going to the Guerrilla Queer Bar. GQB is when they announce a bar on the day of that will be turned into a gay bar for the night. LGBTQA people are encouraged to this bar for the night. I’ve never been to a GQB, but it sounds fun. I just have to watch Facebook for the announcement of where it will be. By the way, the other reason I’m not going to the Burly Bears get together on Friday is because the theme is the 80s and I never was a big fan of the 80s. I grew up on 80s country music and 90s alternative rock. The 80s pop music just makes me want to cringe. So GQB it will be.

In Bulk

A friend of mine asked me to go to Costco to do some shopping. Her membership was new, and she was afraid that the store would be too big and intimidating. So to prevent an anxiety attack, she asked me to go with her. We went up and down every aisle and found a few bargains. They sell almost everything at Costco. Of course, it’s all in bulk. If they sold boyfriends, I suspect you’d have to buy the whole group above. I could handle that, lol.
