Moment of Zen: Bed Rest
Though not 100 percent better, I think I have finally beaten the comings and goings of the fever. I’m still terribly congested, but that too is getting better as I am not coughing nearly as much. Hopefully, bed rest the rest of the weekend will get me better by Monday.

I began my life in the South and for five years lived as a closeted teacher, but am now making a new life for myself as an oral historian in New England. I think my life will work out the way it was always meant to be. That doesn't mean there won't be ups and downs; that's all part of life. It means I just have to be patient. I feel like October 7, 2015 is my new birthday. It's a beginning filled with great hope. It's a second chance to live my life…not anyone else's.

I am sure a good 'snuggle up' with that handsome young man in the photo would make you, or any of us, feel much, much better!!! Rest and relax and improve today and tomorrow.

I hope you feel better very soon — I know I did just by looking at the guy in the picture — and I wasn't even sick!
